Auto-logout - 2006/05/11 21:03 By the way: From you posting as a 'guest' it seems as if I were not the only one who has some problems with the new auto-logout feature. Maybe it would be a good idea to choose a somewhat higher time-limit, root ?

I've moved there the issue noted by gaf. Please detail your issue here. The "Remember me" feature seems to work fine, at least for me.

Please let me know if it doesn't so (specifing the OS and browser will also help).

Re:Auto-logout - 2006/05/12 05:27 Hello root,
what I've noted is that DFR obviously wasn't logged in when he wrote his last two messages. This however shouldn't even be possible as write-access is prohibited for visitors. I've had the same problem in this thread (my 2nd post).
My reasoning thus was that it might be possible that the site uses some internal time-out limit that causes user that have been idle to long to get logged-out automatically. As I make heavy use of multi-tab browsing, it might sometimes happen that quite some time passes between the moment I log-in and the moment when I write and submit my post. For my last few posts I thus logged-in just before I hit the submit button, and the problem didn't again occure to me. This time-out theory is however merely a guess, it could well be that the problem is caused by something completely different..

regards,
gaf

(I'm using Opera 8.02 an a WinXP installation)

Re:Auto-logout - 2006/05/12 12:01 So it's not just me having this problem. I thought it might of been related to me using the machine's at work (that use a proxy at the other end of the connection).

I'm hoping it gets sorted out though. Another thing I miss is the front page news items that we could contribute to. (not that much has happened recently that interests me and would be news worthy)

I was a bif confused about it posting my message too when visitors can't post

Daniel
