cdrw in asm - 2005/06/21 18:34
I need uptodate register/programming specs for eide cdrw, can anyone point me to them?

I got to put and get data to/from a cdrw in protected mode assembler, i've done it perfectly ok for a hard disk, just wondering is it much more difficult for a cdrw?

Re: cdrw in asm - 2005/06/22 05:34 Hi Mark,
there was a question about how to access a cd-drive some week ago (->here). Since both devices (aswell as the harddisk, btw) are accessed through the ATA/ATAPI controller the information given there should also apply to your problem..

regards,
gaf

Re: cdrw in asm - 2005/06/22 07:26 To put data to a cd-rw, is not that easy, you need to first make a ATAPI driver to read cd.
Once you have a full working ATAPI driver, then this link may help.
