Re: osdev.org - 2004/10/12 18:25 I guess is dead due some billing issues. I had some past experiences as they do now, but usually after a domain / hosting renewal, everything is OK.

I hope Chase will solve this issue soon.

Definitly OSDEV.ORG is the most comprhevensive web directory (ring, whatever you want to call it) and web surfers looking for osdev info need it.

Re: osdev.org - 2004/10/12 18:52 Certainly hope it's coming back. Theres a place holder there with "We'll Have More Soon" so hope it's that the site is under re-development before returning rather than end of contract and someone else beat them to renewing it.

Re: osdev.org - 2004/10/12 20:44 I still think their hosting deal must be renew.

I guess I'll email Chase about it.

Where's OSDEV.ORG ?!

Re: osdev.org - 2004/10/13 04:14 Visit this url
http://www.osdev.org/index.jsp

Looks like reconstruction. But i would not have thought chase would take his entire site offline whilst he redesigns it. Thats some bad web site management.

But the page that link goes to has not changed for some weeks. Im wondering whether chase lost the domain and someone else is trying to make a new site but hasn't finished yet.

whois domain lookup still shows chases email address as the registered admin.

Re: osdev.org - 2004/10/13 10:10 I presume osdev.org was that huge URL listing with OS resources, right?

I have a recent version saved on my PC, if interested.

Re: osdev.org - 2004/10/15 00:27 I used to describe it as a community and links site, more of a portal. Never contained many documents but had most amature OS dev projects listed and tutorial/resource pages listed. They did have a web ring linked into the links page but that has also since stopped working with the sites removal. (At one point had a couple of good protected mode hello world kernel tutorials, also one on mixing assembly with C)

I'm personally keeping the web-ring code on my site incase they return soon. (hope so). The site that appears to have appeared at the address moose pasted has a link to sourceforge so at least not looking like a commercial site and wouldn't of thought an opensource project would of grabbed the domain that fast. Guess we will have to wait and see.

Apple, the weblinks can prob be re-subbmitted anyhows (some where beginning to get out of date anyhows) but if you have any tutorials from that site they would be worth holding onto and maybe sending here (license/copyright etc permitting, but sure some one would check that before adding to the downloads page)

I added an Upload link on the top of every page. You can use it to publish resources.

Thank you.
